El Niño
El Niño is a disruption of the ocean
-atmosphere system in the
Tropical Pacific having important
consequences for weather and
climate around the globe. At
present, it is not fully understood
what causes these changes. But
most credible scientists agree that
atmospheric carbon levels play a
large role.

The Butterfly Effect
SOLD
but if you'd like you very own
whirligig - lamp...
I can make you one!
As the lamp heats up the balanced
propeller revolves on the stylus.
The title comes from Chaos theory and the
idea in meteorology that the flapping of a
butterfly's wings can create a disturbance
that can eventually change the large scale
atmospheric motion, so that long term,
weather becomes impossible to forecast.
The erratically unpredictable speed of ro-
tation of the lamps prop seems to be in-
fluenced by infinitesimal factors.
Exhaust fan propeller, compass, thermos, fan clutch, coat hanger, and thimble.

Most of these parts came from dumpsters
used by remodeling contractors in the
Greenlake area of Seattle.

(Crazy King Mushroom)
This lamp is made from one of my bike’s old pedals, an aluminum pot lid, fuel bottle,
rice steamer tray, and a stainless steel ice bucket courtesy of a neighbor's yard sale. It's great as a table top or desk top lamp.
